Employment eligibility for each position is determined by management and final decisions for suitability are made by the Office of Child Care.
Aide
Must be at least 16 years of age
MSDE Aide training and orientation
ADA training
Breastfeeding practices training
Basic Health and Safety training
Maintain 6 clock hours of continued education training (3 COK and 3 elective)
Lead Teacher
Must be at least 19 years of age
Hold a High School Diploma or a certificate of High School equivalence
45 growth and development course / 45 activities for young children (90 hours) or hold their CDA credential
OR hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
1 year experience in a licensed child care center or 1 year of college
9 hours communication or equivalent college course in communication
ADA training
Breastfeeding practices training
Basic Health and Safety training
Maintain 12 clock hours of continued education training (6 COK and 6 elective)
Director
Must be at least 21 years of age
Hold a High School Diploma or a certificate of High School equivalence
Hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of 15 hours coursework in Early Childhood Education
-OR- a Bachelor’s Degree in any field with 2 years of experience in a licensed child care center
45 growth and development course / 45 activities for young children (90 hours) or hold their CDA credential
9 hours communication or equivalent college course in communication
45 hour infant/toddler certification or the equivalent of 3 semester hours of approved training related to the care of infants
